Side channel blowers
Description
BECKER side-channel blowers (SV, VASF and GAS-TIGHT series) are used to generate suction or discharge air in heavy-duty industrial applications. These turbo-dynamic blowers are wear-free and maintenance-free.
Side-channel blowers contain a high-speed, contact-free impeller inside a blower housing. On either side of the impeller, there are two separate ring-shaped side channels forming part of the housing. The impeller draws in air through the inlet side, accelerates the air or gas inside the casing, and then discharges it through the outlet side once it is fully pressurised.
In single-stage blowers, the air circulates once inside the casing via both sides of the impeller before being discharged. This two-stage operation results in a higher volume flow rate.
By means of an internal diversion of the air from the first to the second side of the impeller, in the case of two-stage fans, the air circulates twice inside the housing before being discharged. This single-pass operation results in a higher vacuum or pressure.
It is possible to fit a variable frequency drive to side-channel, two-stage or single-stage vacuum pumps.
